Emergency Procedures

Fire Alarm

When the fire alarm sounds, you must immediately evacuate and assemble across the road from Pembridge Gardens hall entrance. Do not bring personal belongings, and do not re-enter until instructed to do so. Students found inside the Hall during an evacuation will be disciplined appropriately.

The fire alarm is tested every Thursday around midday. During this time no action needs to be taken unless the alarm is continuous for more than 20 seconds.

Personal Health

If you have not done so already, please register with a GP at the Imperial College Health Centre.

It is strongly recommended by the College that new students under the age of 25 are vaccinated against meningococcal disease (meningitis) and measles, mumps and rubella. These are serious diseases : meningitis can kill and mumps can damage fertility. Although rare, they occur more commonly amongst university students. It is recommended that you are immunised against these prior to coming to university. The Imperial College Health Centre offers free vaccinations for students under the of 25. Click here for vaccination dates and more information.

Hall Security

A security concern in halls should go to the hall supervisor (020 7594 5923) during office hours and to the duty warden (07590 250 422) outside office hours.
We recommend that you read through the Student Crime Prevention Guide provided by College.
