Your Name, Your Room Number
28-32 Pembridge Gardens
W2 4DX, London
(If you use a variation of the name we have in the system, make sure to include your room number)
There are two communal kitchens in Pembridge – one is located on the ground floor of House 28, and one is located in the basement of House 32.
Both kitchens are equipped with stoves, ovens, fridges & freezers, microwaves, toasters, and kettles. Each resident will have their own small cupboard (for which you may want to bring a padlock). You will need to bring your own cutlery and cooking utensils.
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING KITCHEN EQUIPMENT. Please do not bring any electrical kitchen equipment (such as rice cookers, hot plates, kettles, toasters, microwaves, …) for your bedroom. Safety regulation prohibits the use of cooking equipment in the bedrooms.
Please do your best to keep the kitchen clean: it is not a cleaners’ responsibility to do your washing up & clearing away. Utensils which are left on surfaces in the kitchens will be put into the green bins provided. You are welcome to retrieve your lost items from the green bins. The bins are emptied regularly. If you leave your stuff in them too long they will be emptied and thrown out. The College takes no responsibility for loss of utensils.
Rubbish and Recycling
Your room will be cleaned on a regular basis. If you need or want to empty the rubbish bin in your room on the off days, then it is your responsibility to take the rubbish out to the designated bins located in the front of house 32.
Reuse and Recycle Imperial is committed to reducing waste and all throughout college you’ll find recycling bins all throughout campus; Halls are no exception. Please help us by sorting your recycling correctly. There is a dedicated recycling bin outside house 32.
The recycling bins are marked as follows:
Green Dry mixed recycling – glass, cans, tins, hard plastics
Red Glass – domestic
Blue Paper and card
Black General waste
By reusing or recycling we are:
Contributing to the conservation of natural resources
Helping to protect the environment
For more information go to the estates facilities web page.
The TV-rooms are equipped with a large TV and game consoles. If you still decide to bring a TV, you are obliged by law to obtain a TV licence. At halls, you are not covered by your parent’s licence. Expensive Hi-Fi equipment may not be covered by the College insurance. Moreover, we do have strict rules on noise in the Hall. This is an old building which means the walls were not made to be noise isolating.
We also have a selection of games available for your entertainment.
Pembridge has secure bike storage facilities which can be accessed using your college card. To gain access you will need to email Asta Beisyte. The college also has secure storage facilities across campus but you will need to register your bike online. There is also other useful information on Imperial College’s cycling page and it is worth a read.
We also recommend that you bring a strong bicycle lock as bicycle theft is common in London. If you don’t yet have one, Imperial security sells strong ‘D’ – Locks at a discounted price.
There are several washing machines and driers in the basement of house 28. They are operated using a laundry app, the link to which is included in the welcome QR code. A normal wash costs £2.30, super wash is £2.80 and the driers cost £1.30.
The laundry room also has 2 irons and ironing boards which are free to use.
